And the winners are…

Spice-N-Tice wins the The Best Innovative Product of 2006.Last month was an amazing and proud month for Spice-N-Tice as we celebrated winning an award for ‘The Best Innovative Product of the East Midlands'.

In addition to this we also became the regional finalists for the ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ competition which was held by Shell Livewire.

This achievement is a tremendous accolade to all of our customers whose enthusiasm and excitement keeps us striving for more, so a big thank you to you all.

Keep on cooking!

Thank you to all those who visited us at Bolsover castle on 20th & 21st of May. It was a lively show with celebrity chefs like Rachel Green and James Tanner from Ready Steady Cook cooking up culinary delights. In fact Rachel actually used our recipes in her demonstrations as she loves the convenience of our pre-blended fresh ingredients which not only saves time but also guarantees tasty results. Go Rachel!!!

Thank you to all those who took part in our free prize draw. Congratulations to Katrina Cundy from Bolsover & Peter Ebbins from Nottingham for winning a balti dish full of goodies.

Herb of the month…

Methi– (fenugreek) As many of you will know the herb Methi is used in our popular dish ‘Methi Chicken’. The fresh leaves of fenugreek are sun-dried to retain their freshness and when used in cooking they release their aromatic flavours to create a delicious curry.

Here are some facts…

  • Fenugreek has many culinary and medicinal properties, e.g. digestive aid.
  • Uncooked fenugreek seeds have an unpleasant, bitter taste, so the seeds are usually roasted and ground before use.
  • Ground seeds and / or leaves give an aromatic flavour to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
  • Fenugreek is also good in marinades and salads.

Spring into action!

Come and see us at the BBC Springwatch show in Newstead Abbey, Nottingham this Sunday (4th June 2006). You never know you may end up on TV!

We’d like to welcome Ian Clarke to our spicy family. Ian owns ‘Clarkes of Queniborough’ in Leicester and now stocks Spice-N-Tice products in his deli along with lots of other delicious goodies. (Why not check out our other stockists by clicking here).
