When the weather's getting colder, what better way to warm up than by tucking into a homemade Mulligatawny soup? We've added the perfect blend of spice to this super healthy and delicious recipe to keep you feeling cosy and fulfilled for longer. This popular spicy dish was a firm favourite amongst the British Raj during their time in India and now it's become one of ours.

Ingredients: Coriander, Cumin, Onion, Chilli, Fenugreek, Garlic, Ginger, Paprika, Turmeric, Cinnamon, Cassia, Black pepper, Cloves, Bay, Cardamom.

Shopping list

  • 2 diced chicken breasts 
  • 100g of basmati rice
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 celery sticks
  • 1/2 a butternut squash
  • 1 tbsp of tomato puree
  • 400ml of tinned tomatoes
  • 1.2 litres of chicken or vegetable stock
  • 1-inch piece of ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Low-calorie spray or 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to season
  • Coriander leaves and red chili to garnish (optional)
